the starter solenoide, i cannt get it back on wondering is there a special way to do it???
-
Reasembly is the reversal of removal procedure.
But seriously if I saw it I could probably help, it will be something daft no doubt.
Are we talking about the one on the top of a pre-engaging starter (piggy back) that throws the pinion in? Have you checked it's aligned with the engaging mech properly.

thats exactly what it is there is two plastic prong things that the plastic pin (on the solenoid) hos to go behind

I was trying to picture it in my head :?
This is what the wife calls "cardboard programmer syndrome".

lol
it took some brain work but i looked at it and there was a rubber that i needed to take out and hook it on the pins then replace the solenoide and rubber, hard work (easier to explain if you see it)
main problem was space, it is so low to ground (compared to the series anyway) and they leave no space for...........well any thing, the solenoide was right by me head and sparks were flying lol (didnt jack van up)
it is even worse in the new jags, mercs ect its just a sheet of plastic, when yuor past that (and the electrics) there not enuf room to fit a spanner down the side of the engine, let alone your hand!!!!!
