Title: Gearbox recon or replacement?
Post by: loyalduke on March 10, 2007, 14:15:45
After the shunt before christmas we finally got AXA out on the road today.  Recon'd axle, new link arms, new shockers and a secondhand HD bumper etc.  :D

Yes you've guessed  the impact broke the gasket seal on the gear box so as soon as we got him moving and on a run the ATF flooded out, well not all of it fortunately, so now its off with the box.  :(

Not sure whether a straight swap over or have mine recon'd? So thought I'd ask if there was a good one (R380)out there at a sensible price as I am almost penniless

Any thoughts ideas on best and most cost effective approach would be apreciated ( AXA has done approx 95k miles).

John

Hi John, long time no see.

At that mileage I'd be thinking recon, but I get what you're saying about the budget.

I havn't seen any R380s local for the right money so I'm going auto, but that's on a V8.
