just done a cam belt on a paj diesel and its bellows white smoke
-
Is that all you did? possibly the belt is one tooth out. I did that on my Cav first time,it's all to easy as you tighten the belt to have it move round one tooth. Not sure what it does though as I was lucky enough to spot it.
How does it drive?

just advanced the pump a lot and it smoks a little less but still no good think it might be head gasket as we also did a water pump and another turbo cos the turbo was oil misting into engine and running on eng oil
but the replacement turbo is putting oil into the exhaust so we got to rethink wot we will do as bits are expensive and mot due soon

white smoke is often water so the head gasket could be your problem. any piccies? one tooth should mean it runs rough but would be unlikey to cause white smoke.

I'd say the pump slipped one tooth when you put the belt on.... well, thats the simplest thing it could be anyway....

tis fecked, burn it
