Post by: craftycarper on March 12, 2007, 09:34:13
After months of looking at endless disco's (rotten as hell) i've opted for a series 3 and gone and bought one, ex military 88 2.25 petrol swb

Looks nice and tidy 8) Good to see that you have a VERY typical Landy leak on your driveway  And at the very least i'd leave it in gear unless you want to eat your food off a series 3 instead of a table

handbrake is fine, but i also leave it in gear old habit from other motors especially living on a hill   yep the usual leak, it's coming from the drain plug on the box, gonna drain it down this week and stick a load of plumbing tape on the thread to see if that cures it.
Bought of a guy who sorta refurbs them so i will have to do the history side of it and see where she served.
Also has a fully working arctic heater in her so only has two front seats, and the battery is in the middle at the back behind the heater which i will probably stick back under the hood. Can't wait till the weather changes and get the canvas off. :D  :D

New plug is only about 50p or so, So it might be worth ordering a new one, I think the oil might dissolve plumbers tape and then it might go inside box and add problems......
