Milk bottle wrapped around the dizzy to deflect splashes.

White grease/chain oil on the dizzy cap and lead ends, plus the coil.

In a scrappy cut some ends off the coil fittings in a Ford, they push over the screw terminals on the coil and make them ater-resistant.  Better still they make any sparks have to travel much further thusd preventing arcing when the coil gets wet.  You need 2 off the -ve side as Ford coils have different size terminals, so that idiots can't get it wrong without REALLy trying.

Buy waterproof HT caps from motorbike shop.

use heatshrink tubing on any essential cables.

Be careful, silicone can destroy the silicone based rubber they are made from.

A good set only need protecting at their ends though.
