Kinda, watch most of the races, unless im shooting, playing in the mud or any other sunday type exercise  I had the pleasure of working with Takuma sato when he first arrived in this country until he moved over into F3 champoinship class, so did a lot of travelling and GP support races across europe, Have been lucky enough to meet quite a lot of F1 drivers such as Mika hakkinen and his family, david coultard and most of all i enjoyed meeting Murry Walker, He seemed just as barmy/loveable character in real life , Also had a few hours with the marlbro Moto gp bike team one one of there test days , so not a huge fan but watch a few just to keep up with goings on,
Some of the guys i worked alongside still work in F1 these days, for different teams, so guess i could blag a ticket still
-
I never used to miss a race but then the last few years have been too predictable, not really exciting enough.
That isnt knocking M.Schuee hes a brilliant technical driver but you do like to see some sort of challenge dont you?
I know hes not won the title for a couple of years and now hes retired from F1 i think this season will be a cracker.
I think the McLaren team have a good chance of success and i'm looking at the new kid on the block to see how he'll do in the McLaren team.
-
I was Sir Stirling Moss' driver at silverstone last year, now theres a legend!
-
love the F1 and the new mclaren driver Anthony Davidson is only from my home town of Hemel Hempstead So i will be rooting for him but still be wearing my BAR shirt and hoping jenson does well. this will be the first year in ages i havent gon to the british gp if i dont go

Er isn't Anthony Davidson driving for Super Aguri this year. Or were you thinking of F1 new boy Lewis Hamilton.
Either way it's nice to see two more young Brits on the grid.
Anyway I'm looking forward to the new season too...:)
-
:)
-
I shall probably watch it live.
-

Especially when you think how many cars on the grid are british.

 you are quite right  it was late when i wrote that and id had a few beers
-
sorry but just dont think its a patch on moto gp. real risks and mental acceleration...and this year scary corner speed.
-
Lifes tough, I get paid to be there every year and drive racing drivers around, and i get to watch the race from the BRDC farm, lovely!!!!!!!
-

Great to hear that someone else appreciates a proper motor sport. :D
-
dont get me wrong i appreciate the technology on the F1 cars but seriously the outcome is often as predictable as a merry go round...with as much overtaking.
-
Like f1 cant wait to watch it. But btcc now thats fun to watch and truck racing bring it on  8)
-
yup. quality.
-
Bunch of personality devoid tax exiles going round in circles around the world, no overtaking (except if you have a lucky pit-stop) & Ecclestone getting richer by the second? No thanks, I'll stick to drag racing! LOL!!!
-
how wrong you are
-
I love motorsport in all its guises, although as a spectator, sports cars are my absolute favourite, either GTs or Prototypes. The problem I have with F1 is that every year it seems to promise so much but ends up disappointing. Having said that I'm still looking forward to the new season getting underway and who knows, it may turn out to be a classic season.
-
how wrong you are
Nah, how right he is.
I like Formula One and will no doubt watch all the races, and if the last 5 years have been anything to go by, I'll finish the season feeling dissapointed that the only real winners have been Ecclestone and his pack of money-hungry sycophants. It's elitest and it's dull these days.
Perhaps if the media would concentrate a little more on the real hard-fought race series (and I don't mean the Twittish Boring Car Chumpionship, either), more people might understand why some folk just don't dig F1
Gimme the Drags, any day. 8)
....or maybe I've just gotta short attention span!
Cheers

How am I wrong? Maybe the "personality deviod" bit is a tad too personal (surely I'm entitled to an opinion?) but the rest is spot on! I'm sorry, but if you remember the old days of Giles Villeneuve, Lauda, Hunt, Peterson etc, there's NO WAY you can compare that sport to the joke it has become today.
You wouldn't get me @ an F1 race if you paid me!
-
course you are entitled to an opinion.
and ur rigth bout nikki lauda ages... i agree they were more exciting.
but the cars in this day and age are awesome, you cant deny that. the sound is beyond belief. i love going.
-
The World Rally Championship is just leagues ahead in terms of excitement.
F1 just lacks something for me. A bit like Scalextric but bigger and more expensive.

If it's the noise you like,do yourself a favour & get down to Santa Pod this Easter, belive me, you've heard nothing until you've heard a top fueler hit the loud pedal. I'll even buy you a beer if I see you (we'll convert you, you'll see LOL!!)

I scrolled down this thread this morning & was very careful - I saw the start of the report & didn't scroll any further just clicked on back.
I have now watched the race without previously knowing the result
I agree with the other members on here though - don't put results on & spoil it for those who didn't stay up all night
-
Interesting race... It shows signs of being more watchable this season. They are taking more steps to make the drivers' skill (and bravado) more important again.
I wonder how long it took Wurz to change his underwear after he got out of his car... He was Very lucky.
-
yeh your right... he must have been [!Expletive Deleted!] himself
-
my partners brother works for McLaren :)
might get some free tickets this year  ( hopefully)
