Title: Heater switch idling increase
Post by: Mr Garfield on March 14, 2007, 12:48:01
When I turn on the heater (cold or hot) the engine idling speed increases to around 2000rpm.  Anyone know why?  It is very annoying, especially when trying to move at low speed!

Thanks

Is it possible to stop it happening?  It is a Spanish SJ but original carb so presume it is still Asian in origin!!

the problem is the idle valve switch this is so when an electrical load is put on the alty it keeps the revs up to companstate allthough these do tend to go a bit wonky lol easy fix thou
pop ur bonnet and stand driverside look at inlet manifold towards the front u will see a lil green plug un-plug it and cover with tape shut ur bonnet and drive off into the sunset
