Because they must make a profit, and secondly the maintenance costs are going up through lack of maintenance in the past I believe.

And yet my daughter recently got a return ticket from Leeds to County Durham for £28. There doesnt seem to be any sense to their pricing structure :(

me and the missus had to fetch a Range Rover from the docks at Newcastle a few years ago it cost us £160 on the train and £20 in fuel on the way back and the range rover was 4.0 petrol!!! :? :?

Would have of been cheaper to fly :(mad):

I use the national express for that kind of thing now, it only costs me £16 to get from Cumbria to London compared to £120 on the train :D
-
I use car trailer and 5.0l V8 RRC LSE and it still doesn't cost me that much to drive both ways.
Including the t**t who drove into the trailer and bust me a tyre
-
I did consider (just for a millisecond) driving the zuke down and towing it back...... 268 miles in one hit in a sj410..... yeah that puts the £103 in perspective!
-
Could you not swing using the works tow truck? or that very nice amg u were in the other week? that would have made the trip down hell of a lot easier not to mention quicker! still it looks like a nice tidy truck.
Cheers, Rob

I've recently used one way car hire to get to heathrow and back, it was half the price of a train and cleaner, more comfortable, quicker, door to door....

For you family people. Read the other day, that if two adults and two children book as four adults, it's cheaper.
