Title: Discovery Fuel Pump
Post by: mungajeep on March 18, 2007, 06:55:43
I have a Discovery V8 Carb model and the fuel pump stopped working, i have fitted the fuel pump from a Range Rover V8i and it starts and runs but the carbs keep flooding. Can anyone tell me if the fuel pressure is different with the V8i pump than a V8 carb pump.

I think it is as the EFi system is a sealed pressurised system where the carb one isn't.
Is it an "in tank" pump on yours of a facet type one that is seperate from the tank?

Generally, injection systems run at a far higher pressure than carbs

And are then regulated to 2.5 bar above manifold pressure.

Whereas the carb pump will be little more than a lift pump.
