had one hell of a fortnight at work, main problem again is the new carrier.
changed from anc as they are now a total waste of time after 2 years or otherwise good service, changed to this new one who didnt let on they use city link, who was our first ever courier, and the worst i have ever come across.
and as expected useless, non deliveries, wrong hubs etc etc, excuses, excuses.
this is causing me megga grief, as now had 6 upset customers in 1 week, more than my usual annual ammount! and non of it my fault.
has any other company out there similar to us got a courier that doesnt let them dow and could recommend.
thank you all

dhl, via www.parcel2go.com, they havent let us down yet, they are always ontime everytime.

thanks, unfortunately they will not ship our stuff due to size and weight, winch bumpers and rocksliders are over length and / or volume depending on carrier.
its hard work finding one that will ship alone, before we worry about the price!

try dfds transport. we've used clearway distribution in the past, too. both seemed ok except for one of them not cashing a cheque for ages, cant remember which that was though.

tuffnells are pretty good...avoid TNT though!!
Schenker & Kays are good for road rail

I have to counter the comments about City Link in that we have been using them for many years and found them to be generally excellent. The only issues I have had have been recently, since they moved their regional 'customer services' to Milton Keynes. It is now impossible to get any sense out of them. It was fine when we just talked to our local depot in Norwich. Never had any trouble at all. And when there was a mistake (all carriers make them from time to time!) they sorted it out quickly and efficiently.
The problem is often down to indivdual depots or even individual people. If you have to deal with a rubbish collection driver, for example, it colours your view of the service. Our driver is excellent. More than happy to wait if we are just packing something when he arrives. He's even been know to stick labels on for us!
Interlink have rediculously tiny size limits for parcels. I had them on the phone just the other day, so it's fresh in my mind!

Not sure if these guys would be any good for you as I think they're aimed for individual customers rather than business use, but they definitely deal with larger stuff - I sent my rocksliders to another MC member last year via one of the options:

No idea if they were good prices or not, but were cheaper than Parcel Force.

what sort of prices are you paying for deliveries?

Yep I will second that, Tuffnells have always been great for me.
