My colleague showed me this in Model Engineer magazine. It is truly astonishing. 12 years to build and who knows how much money!

Absolutely stunning.

Hi Steve,
......that really is a labour of love, absolutely amazing, 3 years just to do the drawings, then 12 years to build, and as for building a working 100cc flat twelve, and a gearbox including reverse to that scale from scratch, I'm totally gobsmacked.
.........thanks for the link, I really enjoyed it.
...........................cheers, Jack.

Wow, that is beauty beyond compare!

Do you think he ever went down the pub for a pint.

The detail is AMAZING i mean even down to the little valve springs etc... i know i wouldn't have the patience... 8) 8) 8)

i spent 2 years building a 2" scale working steam lorry once.
that was hard enough.
-
That was featured in Clarksons 'Extreme Machines' series

Even the gauges work.
Clarkson was amazed by the valves.... they are relatively easy! He had to mould tyres and cast the glass for headlights. But what I find most impressive is that it has a working fuel injection system

My sister ex husband is a commercial model maker. One of his 'regular' jobs was building 3rd scale (I think!) traction engines and steam rollers. Each one would sell for 15-20 thousand pounds  But it would take him 6 months full time work, so it's not that much money really.

My favourite Ferrari.
That model is out of this world.
Usless information.
The con rods in the full size Ferrari were made from titanium at a cost of £1,000 each. Would somebody like to put that in todays money
