Contact the Bristol Land Rovers Owners Club www.blroc.co.uk, one of the members (Steve i think) has done one, I think he actually has his own web-site showing the build.

The Dakar Club site (www.dakar4x4.co.uk) has some details on the build from a Range Rover chassis. Steve Bennett has the full story on the Disco conversion - it's not much different, but the disco dash is a bit higher so fitting is a bit more of a challenge. Steve does professional rebuilds - www.dakar4x4.me.uk.
Essentially the build process is:
1) Cut off every body panel and sell what's not too rusty.
2) Hack chassis rails off behind rear axle
3) Bold and Weld Roll Cage to new chassis
4) Fit new fuel tank
5) Modify bulkhead to fit (with a large hammer)
6) Drop plastic tub over the top
7) Refit odd bits like wipers and tidy up wiring
8) Do the cosmetic bits.
I didn't build mine, but if you need any pointers, drop me a note.
Andy
