My basic uderstanding of an intercooler is to allow the cooling of air before its drawn into the engine. Its far to presume therefore that fitting a bigger intercooler allows for the air to be cooled more.
If this is basically correct (and please correct me if I am wrong) then is it possible to fit the intercooler from a TD5 ont a 300tdi and achieve any benifits in a similar way to those from fitting one of the more expensive options?

Try lookin around some of the shows when they start. We saw some places selling bigger intercoolers that fitted along the bottom of the rad, about twice the size of standard for only £25. Kicking myself that I didn't get one.
Have you tried cleaning out the turbo pipe and giving your intercooler a good flush out with some parafin, can work wonder if your turbo seems a bir tired.

If your 300 has aircon you wont be able to fit a td5 'cooler.

Been looking at getting a larger intercooler myself. All the ones I've found seem to be around £400+, anyone know of any cheaper?
