Hi chaps,
I am looking for an insurance company for my 4x4 any good ones out there !!!
-
I'm with Secure Direct... best price for me with the mods I have.
The NFU also seem to be competitive for people
-
Depends on vehicle aswell, old ones can go as classic cars which is mucho cheap, I use heritige insurance on that basis..
-
Thanks steve, 1986 would that come under the classic cat
-
You could try Adrian Flux in Kings Lynn. (I did)
www.adrianflux.co.uk
Hope this helps.
-
86 will count as a classic.. mine was an 85 and had no issues, oonly mild mods though
-
Hi Ian,
It's best to go with a company that will cover mods for you than have to change company mid term and loose NCB or a load of dosh.
I'm with Secure Direct as well and they do for me.

excuse my ingnorance but how old does a car have to be to called a classic then??

Mine got classed as one and it's a 1993.
So I take it it's 10 years.

Some companies go with 15 years before it's classic...
I'll be looking at the 10 year ones next year at renewal when mine reaches it's first decade! Thanks for the tip!
With NFU at the moment, but tried to insure a mildly modifed series 3 and they wanted almost double the amount Peter Best quoted (about £260 instead of about £140).
Cheers

Mine is 1990 & with Peter Best as a Classic with limited mileage. To me a good firm but there seems to be loads of variations in peoples quotes with all the 4*4 companies. When I rang round those inLRO for my Rangie they had £40-£50 differences between them yet they all say "Good" for 4*4 cover. It seems best to ring round all those in the mags for your own personal needs/circumstances.--Tony

Depends.
Some take it as 10 years, some 15 and some 20. For some it has to be out of production, for some by 10 years.
Confused yet?
I've had some dealings with insurance companies with both our rangie and classic Fords before that. At the end of the day they're all still insurance companies!
