Ouch  anyone know a good dentist

Think of the weight you'll save with those teeth missing.
-
was about to say youve lost some bits, then noticed in the next picture you hadnt lost them at all, they are in the bottom of the oil.
that was lucky.
just need some good glue now and away you go.
-
Don't come apart over it ! Looks right [!Expletive Deleted!]

So you didnt have it diff pegged then Mike? Seems to be the season for broken diffs.........Johnty recently did his and MattyMe also did his last week  This is what Johnty did........

pegging the diff wouldnt have stopped it happening,
however if the bolts hadnt come out then it most defenitly wouldnt have happened
-
What holds the bolt in then?

What holds the bolt in then?
locktight/locktabs etc

so built the diff then? arent there normally locking tabs on those bolts?

pegging wouldnt cure that, thats the center carrier bust where the suns have welded themselves to there shaft due to wheelspin (mighthave been when winching :? ) and then they bust
pegging stopps the pinion pushing the crownwheel away from it when shock loads are applied
mike......sort it  times e ticking lad

was gonna do it the morra but ma faithur is away to pick up ma wee bros new mountain bike,so might be striping it myself
What u think to fitting new bearings for the sake of it when i build it?
-
Well for what new bearing cost . I would replace them you don't know if any bits are in there, you dont want to strip it again do you.
-
wel, all the little filings would have found themselves inside the bearings, so its either do it while its apart, or strip it in a month or so when they whining
likewise wheel bearings aswel mike
u doing it yourself ?
practice on a old diff 1st, not to balls anything up, but ull no when the backlash and pre-load is right, itll just feel right by hand  , not to tight and notchy, not to slack and a s*** load of play (backlash)
