i am going to get another front diff and i am guessing the quickest way to change it is to unbolt both swivel balls to release the half shafts?
-
Yes but they are heavy. You will have problems getting a new gasket in there too and you need to remove most of the steering.
The slightly lighter method is to remove the callipers, hubs stub axles and withdraw the halfshafts.

Use silicon rtv instead of gasket on swivel ball flange

cheers for the replys i didnt get round to doing it yesterday but i am gonna give it a shot today :D
-
well i finally got round to fitting it today i left the wheels on and just unbolted the balls and the drag link from one of the hubs all went well bolted all up but can anyone guess what i didnt check before fitting

cheers for the offer but the bloke i got it from has also got a 10 spline and will swap it over unless your in need of a 24 spline but you are a fair few miles away
