Just did a DVLA check on my Freelander....
Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £112.75
12 Months Rate £205.00
But as i see it, the freelander is a Band G vehicle??
Anyone got any ideas?
-
if its pre 06 then I think it is band F
-
here's hoping... tax is due this month. gonna take that printout with me to the post office and query it.
-
What is it? ... a TD4?
As I understand it, this is how it works ......................
Band "F" = 186-225 CO2 per Km
Band "G" = 226+ CO2 per km.
The official figure for a TD4 Freelander is 205 CO2 per Km, so it's Band "F", and should be £205 (1 year).
-
its a 1.8 petrol
-
Scrub that ... I've been misinformed .... CO2 emmission figures for Freelanders are (according to SMMT):
1.8 : 248 CO2/Km
TD4 : 240 CO2/Km
This places them both firmly in band "G" BUT as I understand it, the £300 tax rate this year, rising to £400 next applies to cars registered after 23/03/2006.
Vehicles registered between 03/2001 and 23/03/2006 should (I hope :? )remain, as Bob696 said in Band "F" (£205).
Freelanders registered before March 2001 should, I believe, be paying £180.
Edit: Just found this site, which appears to offer a fairly definitive explanation ...

Band "F" :)

i'll let u know next week.....
-
So let me get this right - a 1.8 petrol Freeby is dearer for road tax than my 4.6 Rangie ???
Where's the sense in that then !!!!!! :?
-
Yeah, well ... since when does logic enter the equation :?
I still think they should dispense with road tax and bump up fuel prices, but what would I know!
Anyway, It would seem that if your rangie was registered before March 2001, you'll be stung for £180. If it was registered between march 2001 and 23/03/2006, you'll pay £205, and if it was registered after 23/03/2006, you'll pay £300 this year, rising to £400 next!
Don't quote me on any of this, though - I'm as much in the dark as everyone else!!
-
Oh its a '96 Jap Import so well within the £180 cut off..............................................................................................still don't make sense though
Although I aint complaining mind you !
-
Spyke get it sold...... It won't be any use to ya if you come play out wi' us in June
-
TDi renewal came through at £175, not £180 as I thought :? shame you can't hold them to that.
I heard today something about a new band for older cars above 2500cc, but it was only hearsay. Anyone know about it?

Just taxed our td4 £112 for 6 month's

I've heard a whisper about that but nothing on paper it does make you wonder what the scumbags are plotting next?

A man after my own heart. Tax on fuel means no tax dodgers.
