Post by: Roc'N'Roll on April 09, 2007, 18:42:40
Any ideas...
Which is the better deal
Machos at £52 or Recip trials at £60
Anybody got any views/ advice?
Thought about Broncos but at £70 a pop too much-I'm getting 5 of..

Actually the only thing I see with directionals that might be a problem is what happens if you need the grip in reverse - I've had to reverse twice recently on green lanes both a fair distance and one of those times mud biting traction was needed

Just a thought

I've seen people running macho's the wrong way round and have no issues with traction, so I guess they only need the directional bit on the road maybe.
Never been let down by mine in either direction

Machos actually do not have a direction arrow on the sidewall. Mine dont anyhow!

Machos are directional, but it just means they are even better when going the right way round :D

It's so that they are self-cleaning that's all, so they point forewards at the top.

Are machos open tread?

Hi all
Anybody else....?????
Recip trials or machos? Found out they both have 18mm tread-both directional
Also Recips are available- but there is a wait for machos
Decisions ,decisions
I might go mad and get Broncos :D
Anybody know any other Muds around £55- £65 thet would recommend?

Can anyone one tell me if the machos are open tread, or if you can compete in them??

what about colway m/t's, i have them and "for the price" (i paid 25 quid a corner a year or so ago  :D ) i think there a very good tyre on and off road, and after a year of driving on them they still have a good amount of tread on them......just my opinion though

Driftwood
I have some Colway muds on my Paj and they are very good -but I've told Machos are much better-hard to believe as Colways are good anyway-but that seems to be the general opinion -and Bronco diamondbacks are the mutts nuts -alledgedly :)

IMO a macho is quite a closed pattern compared to an insa turbo
