Title: New Rock Sliders waiting to be fitted
Post by: Telaren on April 09, 2007, 20:13:25: I have just bought a nice pair of Rock/tree sliders from Guardian.

:(biggrin): Cheers Mate - Will look EXCELLENT when fitted

What is the best way of removing the existing trim(Silly little plug screws holding it on)

Post by: fram on April 10, 2007, 09:58:48: We found a hammer and a dirty great screwdriver did the trick nicely. Came off in one piece with all those silly fixings still attached. Unless you're planning on using them again why bother messing around, just get in there and yank them off!!!

Post by: freeagent on April 29, 2007, 09:47:31: i removed the plastic rivets on mine with a 1" woodwork chissle and a plastic mallet... came off easily..

That griptape stuff is available on ebay in rolls for not a lot of money.. i bought 12m of it recently, my rocksliders now also have a non-slip surface... :wink:

I dont know weather to have them galved and coated or or not just to keep the cost down.
I am busy with two sets at the moment. maybe if i make 10 sets at a time it would be worth getting them galved and coated.
What do you think. Keep them cheap or make them in line with all the others at a similar price.

they will still sell but limited market.

They confused me when I came to fit them but soon realised that they where angled. :oops:

Just a bit of feedback though - On a 5 door the sliders leave a gap between the rear door sill and the slider.
Easily solved by cutting up the old plastic trim and fixing on.

Once again thanks for the sliders.

Might be in the market for a front winch bumper as I have gone and bought a winch :lol:

The 1st set i made i tried to curve the box section to match the body line but it was difficult to get two curves identical.
