So if he has given up his chance to "wake up" does this mean there will be no more series? I was quite shocked when he did wake up........ and then even more so when he took the running jump

They said at the start of the second series that they were planning for this to be the last series of LOM. There's been rumours of a spin off featuring Gene, and the latest one I heard yesterday was a spin off in the 80's.

I watched it on "time slip", and so was about 10 minutes behind.

Consequently, it was about 10pm when Sam woke up "today", and I looked at the clock thinking - that's a bit of a lame ending!

It certainly got a bit better after that :D

I think I'll be buying the DVD once it's a sensible price - probably ask for it for Christmas!

Cheers

Ben

It sort of headed down the direction I thought it would.  There were so many inconsistencies though, which took the edge off it a bit.  Like when Sam found the transfer form in the filing cabinet - well, if the whole world is an invention of his mind, then of COURSE he's going to find the transfer form in the filing cabinet.  Ditto the gravestones, etc.

There was also no mention of his gf from the future (who "left him" a few episodes ago but you would have thought might still have been interested that he'd come out of the coma), and his mum didn't seem that bothered about him either.

And the rest of the gang forgave him surprisingly easy for the whole infiltration thing.  All he had to do was take a pot shot at a train robber and suddenly everyone was best buddies again.

It came across as if they'd had a really good idea for the finale, but then when they started to think through it, realised it wouldn't quite work out that well, but did it anyway.

Anyway, they can't do a sequel, cos they flogged the car on eBay!  Unless Gene's going to be driving a Rover SD1 in the 80s?

There is something about a new series on another forum but the series will be called Ashes to Ashes......... can't remember what all was said about it but it did look like it would be set in the 80s so Gene will have to have a more "modern" car

Some details on http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6542633.stm

The plot sounds a bit unimaginative.  Poor Gene, being landed with another one.  What a coincidence.

It kinda seemed like the 70s was the reality and the "dream" was the future to me ? Anyone else ?
I reckoned the bump on his head gave him amnesia and started the "dream" bit. If you jumped off a bulding like that you would not just "slip" back into a coma and start dreaming again. You would be MFI'd

Yeah thats what i thought too bullfrog. With all the bit with Nelson talking about "you know your alive because you can feel" and then he cut his finger in the future and couldnt feel it, so he decided to jump off the roof.
Did anyone else find that little girl in the red dress scary? She really freaks me out! :?

Any one seen the film Vanilla Sky with Tom Cruise?

bit too much of a similar ending, even jumping of the top of a building to choose dreaming or living!

Still enjoyed it.

How can there be a sequel if sams not in it? its all in his head!

I think its one of those things that you need to watch the whole lot again to try and work everything out, now you know how it all ends... like Vanilla sky or Fight club

:D I really enjoyed it , maybe it is a commentary on the sterile boring 21st Century PC world we live in, the 70's seem so vibrant in comparison.  There were a few inconsistencies but tried not to notice them.  Not sure how the Gene Hunt with sexy side kick will work.

So they filmed 2 endings then, wouldn't mind seing the alternative.

And the remake is being made set in the '80s :D

Best dust off the old MkII ecy then.
