I once heard an Iranian friend talking about a Mercedes S-class and describing it as a "beautiful" car. Personally I think most cars described as beautiful are actually pretty pig-ugly. Most are chunky hunks of metal which are only aesthetically pleasing because they're marginally less awful than some of the others. Billions of pounds worth of marketing budgets has somehow tricked us into thinking that beauty lurks in there somewhere.
However, when I was wondering earlier how to spend the money I'm going to win on the lottery on Saturday, I realised I actually have a bit of a soft spot for the Aston Martin DB9 Volante (current model). I reckon if ever a car was good looking, it's the Volante.
What about the rest of you? Think carefully, I'm looking for beauty, not flashiness or desireability.
And while we're at it, what about the worst? The BMW X3 has to come close. And the back of the X5 looks like a Ssangyong Musso. The designers should be shot. If the X3 and X5 had Far-Eastern badges on them, people would laugh openly in the streets, but because they're BMWs people somehow convince themselves they're in some way decent.

I dont know the model but in one of those ad breaks between films thers a woman pulling the sheet off a very curvy BMW sportster ?

TVR Griffith A car that Clarkson (in the 'MotorWorld' series & book) proved can outpose a Ferrari in Monaco, & be offered ready cash for in the same place!
Jaguar XK150 In one word..... gorgeous
AC Cobra Lyth, sinuous, pretty and..... brutal
Range Rover Is it still the only car to have been exhibited in The Louvre?? Surely that's the ultimate recommendation?

The Alfa Romeo Brera (spelt wrong probably!!)
-
remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder....
I really like the looks of the 101, there's different kinds of beauty, the arty sort and the for the want of a better word technical sort, like the London Underground map, I think the 101 falls into the second category as it's form following function, purley designed to do a job with no unecessary frilly bits that manufacturers are so keen on fitting to cars.
That and the AC Cobra, stunning looking car.

Now, if they ever did a retro Batman film set in the 30's, wouldn't that be ideal for Bruce Wayne

VEry pretty and almost one of my 10, but I don't like the back end of the SWB so I'd be after a GTO of the same era. Like you say if I find a couple of million down the backof the sofa.........

Can't beat any Italian legend for styling IMHO
The Countach & the Diablo are two of the finest examples of the designer's art, even if they are pigs to drive.
Aston vs Jag ?
For the money, the Jag wins hands down, and it looks like an Aston !
Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder ! Hic !
