im getting a squeeling noise on full lock, but this morning it did it up the road  any ideas :(

Hi all
Loose power steering belt for a guess.

belt seems ok

I would say check your belts. I had the same problem recently and re-tightened both belts. Did the trick no more squealing on full lock. Might also be worth checking your tyres, with the cold now setting in they can go down a touch which can effect steering.
HTH.

thanks andy-mick i will try belt again see what happens :D

I would say its a belt - but are you sure that you heard the PAS pump? cold mornings can put big loads onto alternators so check that belt too, if its a different one.

Very true Dave, both my belts needed nipping up. For the power steering one I had to wedge a metal bar in from underneath which helped in levering it up.

hello all
A word of warning to much pressure don't do the water pump a lot of good?

There's always a chance that the belt has already been glazed while it was sceaming before.

Check the fluid level.

Try bleeding the Power steering Box. Bleed nipple on top of Steering Box. Do it with the engine switched off, or it'll get you in the eye! ;-)

i wouldnt hold it on full lock either way for a long period o time as it can pop the bottom seal out the steering box  makes an offy mess

putting new belts on weekend, thanks for info =D>

Don't forget to clean the pulleys. Thinners, turps or similar. Gets rid of the little bits of rubber you left behind when your belt was slipping. Remember to dry properly before fitting belts.
