How easy will it be to take the 2 seats out of the boot of my TD5 when I get it ?.
I have been told it is possible to update the front end of the car to look like the face lift model, with the circluar lights. What will this involve ?. Looking at the front of mine against a facelift, all the body parts ie wings and bonnet, bumper look the same just lights and gril are different. It looks like I have to take the indicators and headlights off and the front grill. Is it just a case of fitting the new ones or more complicated?.
Being a bit of a tart really, but I do like the look of the face lift so might splash out on it. :?: :?:

I would have thought it is fairly easy to do. Bumper is easy to take off and the indicators I would have thought are same attatchments. I will watch with interest as I fancy tarting my disco up to look like the face lift model (wheel archy bits and all :-) )

Biggest difficulty is slipping the bill past the wife lol.

The rear seats i would immagine are easy.
The lights i believe are hi intensity discharge ones and are very expensive if i am correct.I believe parts alone would be in the order of £500.
I own a series 1 so not absolutly sure but i believe the front headlights are a real work up.

the new head lights also need the wings cutting. don't bother doing it, just put the blue colour 80/100w bulbs in instead of 50/55w (i know you should'nt but i have had them in 3 years now and work and pass the m.o.t every year)

The rear seats are easy to take out - getting the '5 seater' trim to cover over the holes is not so easy, and not actually necessary as long as you don't mind the holes ! I thought about converting my 7 seater to a 5, but had no luck finding the bits (didn't spend too long lookng though), and as it happens, on a couple of occasions its been quite useful having the extra 2 seats.
The headlights on the face-lifted D2 are not HiD, but aren't cheap either - I seem to recall an ad in one of the mags (Simmonites maybe ?) and they wanted upwards of £800 to do the conversion (not sure if that included the bits or not)

Found a CD on e bay that shows you how to do it in easy to follow pictures. It states its an easy mod, I'm not sure about cutting the wings though ?.

Td5 Alive do the disc for the facelift conversion.
They will also do it for you.
If you're thinking about going down that route I would think about changing the bumper as wel, I think it's got slightly better clearance than the early D2's.
Mine is an early version and I keep catching the valance at the front when I off road.
