Title: My New Vitara
Post by: MrShogun on April 27, 2007, 16:02:12
Well after 5 pajeros/shoguns and 2 LWB Vits have a SWB Vit to play with, now i actually intend to keep and modify this one! It has come slightly modified already with 2" ProComp suspension lift, 29" Greenway Machos on 15" Steels. I put my 8" WIPAC 130w spots on last night when i got home. I paid 850 for her with 12 months MOT, 6 months tax, which i think is pretty good! Fitting new clutch and servicing on Thursday!

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me with some bits and also is there any vitara owners round my way in Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire??? I saw one white one a couple of weeks ago coming out of Dunmow byway!

Also i was thinking of the Bits4Vits 1.25" Spacers on top of springs for a bit more lift, and also are the procomp shocks normally very hard on the rear, it is painful to go over speedbumps at anything over 2mph, i would have thought off road gear would have been softer for better articulation!

Also anything else you can help me with such as DIY Snorkel pointers would be nice!

Any help or info will be much appreciated, many thanks

Matt

looks nice. im hopefully getting some dave jones spring spacers and a procomp kit. i should be getting some greenway atacamas within the next two weeks. i was also thinking of a diy snokel myself, the only thing thatll be pre made is the snorkel top, the rest will be drainage pipe or something similar

if you want clubs, try the Essex, Rochford & District 4x4 Club (http://www.4x4er.co.uk/home.html) and you might be interested in the Norfolk Rhinos (http://www.broadlandrhinos.co.uk/Norfolkrhinoshome.htm) (both have good friendly message boards)

hay mate,i have a highly moded swb vit :D and not too far away from ya if you fancy doing some laning :D

also mate i would not go more that 2in lift with springs and so on as the axels dont like it much,i would go taller tyres and 2in box for body lift,i made a snork out of drain pipe and dont look to bad,(you wont cry when you break it too)dont forget to extend the breathers too :D

When you make the snorkel you have to take out the plastic cover inside the passenger wheel arch. When I did this i dropped the original vit plastic air intake out and fitted it on the outside. If you can find drainpipe to match it looks really smart!

Done my first modification, took an angle grinder to the bull bar to make it into an a bar, i think it looks ten times better!
