Title: prop rub
Post by: jay118 on May 03, 2007, 23:38:20
I had to change one of my core plugs the other day , so while under the rangie I thought I'd have a good look round to make sure everythings ok . Then I noticed my front prop has been rubbing on the tubular cross member in front of the T case can I notch this out so it don't rub? or is this not advisable? thanks Jay

Take a look at your engine and gearbox mounts.  You may find one has failed, changing the geometry of the prop shaft.

Sorry forgot to say its running 2" lift and castor correction arms looks like its rubbing on full droop not all the time I should have been a bit clearer , engine mounts are all ok and gearbox looked at them all . Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem . thanks Jay

Mine gets way too close to the anti roll bar, so I spaced it down by 2" but the gearbox cross memeber should be too far back to be a problem.
