Title: Unusual Garden Ornaments
Post by: Bush Tucker Man on December 03, 2004, 14:39:27
No, nothing to do with my previous ramblings on this subject, but another one that I spotted this morning

I was down to the south-easterly edge of Barnsley on my way to Wentworth to photograph 'Needles Eye' & 'Hoober Stand' (pronounced 'Ubbastan' by the locals)
When, as I was entering the village of Elsecar I saw this wonderful adaptation of a former industrial building.
Some might not appreciate it, but it's only like using a windmill for a habitable building surely?

Please look at the  Garden Ornament (http://community.webshots.com/album/167613101sOlZbm/1)

Beeing born in Mexborough I got use to these statues in the lanscape  their use as just that now will serve as a reminder of a past when comunity mattered, something that would benefit our lives today rather than the self attitude we have now.

At least in Flamborough we seem to have a reasonable community, probably th fishing links , i think fishing communities are the the only ones that come close to a mining one.
