I was talking to Matt_H yesterday and he mentioned that on Fords you can reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery and leaving it for a few hours.
I was wondering does this work for the TD5?. It just to see if it helps with my fuel consumption problems.

No harm in trying - it doesn't seem to screw anything up. I've certainly had the ECU out and/or battery disconnected for a few hours and nothing strange happened after putting it all back !
