I'm looking to change the original 3 spoke (17")wheel for something smaller, will a later '86ish 2 spoke fit the collumn?30ish splines.
Have been looking at mountney classic semi dished 3spoke 15"but suppliers dont seem to be able to get them at the moment.
will a 15" be ok with the orig.indicator/light stalks?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.thanx

Hi
I have a small mountney 3 spoke on mine 8) The only problem I have is that the indicators dont self cancel every time..... but it means that I can fit my legs under the wheel

One of my mates had a wheel of a Rover car. Don't know what car but it fitted like it belonged, nice brown to match the dash too.

mountney wheels work best i reckon, yeah you have to learn to cancel the indicators yourself, but thats about it, i find it more comfortable.

If you look on the back of the original wheel, you'll find a black disc set into the foam. Prise it out with a screwdriver. Remove the two lugs which you just prised it out by, and using self tapping screws, mount the plastic disc to the rear of your steering boss. This is what turns the collar on the steering column to activate the self cancelling indicators.
Works a treat on my '87.

Yeah, it's proper fiddly to get lined up just right. I put everything in place then gaffer-taped it together so I could drill and screw it without everything moving. Would be easier if the collar wasn't such a loose fit on the column
