why is it when ever i reply or list something on here it is removed, is mud club run by another manufacturer or something.
we do not sell our gear in the for sale and i dont believe i promote my gear on here unless asked, so why.
-
sounds like the mud club police have a problem with something somewhere... :?
-
[!Expletive Deleted!] the police coming straight from the underground....
But it will be because of there no traders rule that i think have or something
-
You clearly arent allowed an opinion!
Whats been deleted, just regular posts? Mebbe if you threw in a giveaway competition every now and again for mudclub members they would be happy with you? Happens on Pirate4x4. After all, the traders are the guys we all want to chat up to get good deals, and usually are in the know when help is needed. Id say let traders support the mudclubbers, and in return mudclub supports its regular traders.
Just seems common sense to me.
Then, what the hell do I know.....? (hope the expletive detector is ok with 'hell')
Rolla :D

lol, like it. why not have a traders only section?

Please see the Read Before Posting topic in the For Sale section. (http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?t=4868) I hope this answers your question. If you've had posts removed that aren't commercial advertising, then PM me and I'll see if there's been a mistake.
(Just in case anybody doesn't read the Read Before Posting post, it does also say "No commercial advertising" in the spiel for the For Sale section as well.)

when ever i get summit i can do cheap or a prototype or summit i alway offer it to a mud clubber cheap! other than that and answering questions if i am asked i dont do out wrong i didnt think. never even advertised a stitch on the sale area.

Without knowing exactly what's been removed it's hard for me to say, but posts aren't removed unless they break one of the written rules of the club, or in exceptional circumstances in which case you'd be PM'd about it. I'll look through Quarantine and see if I can see what you're referring to.

dunno? i've never read it. what i meant was a place for traders to post up the stuff they sell, special offers, etc etc.

Well read it then, as it's exactly what you've described.

well, i've got no need to read it, but fair enough

i think a groupbuy section or a discounted commercial section could be good for the mud club members :D

Guardian, I've checked back through the Quarantined posts for the last couple of months, and I can't see anything of yours that has been removed. If you have more details of what was removed and when then please PM me and I'll search for it; other than that the only thing I can think of is that there is some problem with your account, because I really can't find anything at all.
-
the last one was just about half hour or so ago, both abyssdj and keri commented back to me on there, but perhaps i just imagined it!
-
Definitely nothing in Quarantine, if you see it happening again can you PM me with the name of the thread (roughly) and what forum it was in and I'll try to find out.
A while ago we did have a spate of disappearing posts due to a problem with the database but that seemed to be sorted out long ago.
-
is definately gone - isnt showing up in my "view your posts" list either
-
weird :?
-
Whats missing from where?
Give us a clue and we might be able to answer your question.
If you have had things removed, please bear in mind that the Mods and Admins have no requirment to inform you as to why. It sounds harsh, but there's a few of us and lot of you folk posting, and to be honest about it, we've got better things to do than to PM everyone who transgresses the few rules the club has. Some of the response we get are less than favourable, so where our motivation to do so?
Now, if there is a genuine grumble, and we know it can be emotive, then we're a lot more amenable if folk are polite about it
Cheers

Well which one is it?
Some mods say the mods are supposed to inform you each time, some say they dont?

A thread called "idiot" has disapeared that both me and liam posted in and was started by guardian........... prob bout hourish ago
-
No idea - as Mr TheLobster said, it isn't in the usual areas. Possibely just one of things, but in this case, I don't think there's owt underhand going on.
As regards to informing folk about removals - please see the disclaimer at the bottom of the page.
Cheers

Some mods say the mods are supposed to inform you each time, some say they dont?
Generally the mods will notify you of what they've done and why. However, if somebody has blatantly infringed well-known rules (such as posting obscene content), or they're doing something they've been warned about several times before, the mod may find it a worthless exercise.
-
just want to add at this point, i have done none of the above.
i should just leave it at that.
not worth the aggro.
just wondered why posts dissapeared, but there isnt an answer so, sorted.

Ok.
I have only just seen this thread and it was me that deleted the thread.
The antics of certain people in this thread show exactly what we have to put up with from certain users who blatently ignore the rules of the forum.
Swearing on the forum isn't acceptable. Certain members have been warned about their actions yet choose to ignore the Moderators "advice".
Those same people then go on to complain when the final move for a Moderator is to remove complete threads.
That thread was removed for a number of reasons. I'm not going to name names at this point but the people involved know that they have been contacted by moderators privately and then ignore what the moderators have had to say and then basically still go on extracting the urine out of the moderators in threads. That's a really good way to keep them on your side.
Moderation is not done willy nilly on MC. The moderators do talk to each other and persistent offenders get easily recognised. However WE don't get a bean for what we do (and don't expect anything) and freely give our time and unfortunately we have a life and better things to do than tell people that ignore us that we've taken action against them when we know it'll be ignored and that person will carry on flouting the rules.
Mud Club is run by people that put their actions and money where there mouths are. It's free friendly and fun. Free doesn't say that no one pays the hosting bills etc. Please remember that when you want to make your own set of rules.
So there you go.

Wasn't there a thread made sticky about if you swear use the expleitive deleted thingy (can't spell) not star things out etc etc and i only saw that used in the thread and a few lyrics from a song :? mean't in humour that most people seem to lack it would seem........
-
Wasn't there a thread made sticky about if you swear use the expleitive deleted thingy (can't spell) not star things out etc etc
No. The point of the thread was that not only is swearing unacceptable on the forum and you agreed not to swear when you registered for the forum, but also that to deliberately avoid the word filter is just as, if not more, unacceptable.
The filter is only there as a backup to the expectation that Mud Club members will play by the rules.
As a suggestion, if you find that the word filter has been invoked or you need to obscure words, edit your post so that an acceptable word is used.
Thank you

OK but there are even usernames used that deliberatly are mean't to read as a swear word but with a little alteration and there still allowed as people on here use em.......
But either way the filter is there to catch swear words and you don't see every thread with a bit of humour and the expletive deleted thing invoked removed was my point..... Don't really care anyhow i hadn't even noticed the thread had gone till one a them pointed it out thats how important it was
-
You can of course complain about any usernames that you find offensive.

right ed the wanderer, please let me know what i did wrong as as far as i am concerned nothing.
im not going to be that pleased with you if you do not show all what it is i have done. and never had a message from the mods but keep getting removed.
p.s, im a nice bloke will help anyone, but loose my rag real quick if somin aint right.
-
how many have you had removed :? :?:
Maybe it was my fault for swearing (well expletive deleteding) that, that one got removed but people swear in threads everyday and they don't all get removed :?
-
I can see a common connection throughout quarantined and deleted threads. Of all of the people in this thread - how many of you have had warnings/advice from the moderators?
-
I've been trying to keep out of this argument, but it looks as if my attempts to do so have failed.
Please, when you start accusing the moderators of things, even if they appear to be in the wrong they usually have a reason to their actions.
Mud-Club was set up to be "Fun, Friendly and Free", for the administration team it has been none of these for a long time.
This is a generalised bit of information, and applies to everyone, not just those people involved in this "discussion"
For those that have transgressed the boundaries that we laid out, it is my understanding that these transgressions have been brought to your attention repeatedly in the past,
Some persons have historically ignored those warnings, and at the risk of sounding like a broken record, or just out of sheer frustration these people didn't get repeatedly told what they were doing wrong. After all, they weren't listening so why bother saying anything ?
To those that haven't received any form of warning or justification I can only appologise and say that there are, on occasions, times when there is simply not the time to do both things that require doing, viz a viz moderating the content and informing the guilty.
As for comments such as "but he does it, why can't I?", well, yes there is some natural injustice in the world, the moderators can't be everywhere, nor can they police everything, things will get missed, if they do, bring them to someones attention and then they won't be missed.
And, whilst we're on the subject, please bear in mind that mud-club is self funded, if you wish to advertise your company in a blatant way, please make some contribution to the running of the server, rather than using it as a free advertising space.

Iv been warned once not for general swearing or picking on people but from when matty really upset me and i told him to shut up with an expletive deleted thrown in and then i asked for the thread to be removed so that it didn't go any further :!:
He just pushed it one step to far and being polite with him or ignoring him didn't work he just kept digging so i lost my temper..... Since then we have settled our differences in the real world.
but ya know sometimes people get upset and angry and say things and say naughty words its part of life.
-
Hmm, I think this conversation might have run it's course...
that is just an opinion however :?
-
but ya know sometimes people get upset and angry and say things and say naughty words its part of life.
So take it offline with them. We don't need really want to read your arguments with people. We all know swearing occurs, but it is actually possible to excercise some self control - just as you would around the same small children we are trying to protect from reading said words. Unless of course you swear in front of small children, and in which case - there's not a lot I can suggest.
-
This was locked last time i checked.... Did a mod unlock it because they wanted to say something? Wish i could do that!
And tbh i don't swear alot (because i don't really like it) but if i drop something on my foot and break my toe or someone really is taking the rip and laying into me i will say what i want no matter of who is there, wether it is swearing or not. Which really is how i think it should be, fine don't go out of your way to swear but it happens, sometimes infront of kids sometime not.
I was brought up my my nanna and grandpa with old fashioned values and when i was young and i don't think they said even "damn" infront of me, yet i still learnt the naughty words.... after all i went to school where you pick up and learn all the bad things in life unfortunatly.
-
It wasn't locked when I replied - and I didn't unlock it. If you want to argue feel free to ring me or PM me.
-
It was locked, and then I unlocked it because I thought people would be able to take the hint that since the conversation wasn't going anywhere it might be a sensible time to put down the handbags and walk away....
As I say... I think this conversation might have run it's course hint
