If you get chance can you have a think about the following problem?
The 110 (200Tdi) keeps ‘missing’ it is quite bad after a LH bend and up hill.
The fault originally appeared after fitting a new tank a couple of New Years Days ago, but was solved by keeping above quarter of a tank in.
It came back really badly after LF and was diagnosed as air in the system by a Diesel specialist.
We assumed this was down to the bodge I made on the feed pipe from the tank and replaced this pipe after the old pipe had to be cut off.
A new pick up pipe was fitted with the new tank.
Also at the same time:-
Cleaned the tank out
Cleaned the filter on the end of the pickup pipe
Bent the float wire to show a lower reading - giving us breathing space
pressure tested the pickup pipe at mouth pressure under water to check for leaks - there were non.
The above cured the problem and I drove quite happily at 70 + a bit on A64 to NYMR with no problems on new years day this year.
The problem has now returned. I have not yet checked the pipe to tank fitting as I found the return pipe was loose so thought this may be a cause.
I tried again last night with half an indicated half tank of Diesel and the same thing happened.
This does not happen all the time though and can go days or weeks with no problem then be really bad.
I have not touched the lift pump yet nor have I adjust anything else recently. I did a timing belt last year sometime. All was well after that.
Tick over can also be effected and seems lumpy.
ANY ideas no matter HOW stupid are welcome. Question anything except I know it is Diesel in there and NOT petrol.

Hi there
My 200 developed a 'Miss fire' a couple of years ago. All that turned out to be was the female spade connection on the loom which connects on to the 'shut off' solonoid on the injection pump had become worn. I guess the vibration and engine movement under way caused it to make and break contact. Replaced the crimp terminal and has never done it since. Well worth a look and only pence if it is that.
Good luck
Tony

Try having a look at the diaphram in the lift pump, we had a hole in one on a tractor once which caused uneven running.

try putting some clear/see thru fuel line in near the pump .that way you should see if it's an air problem.. :D

Sorted now.
Dropped the tank on Friday and the gauze on the end of the pick up pipe was clogged, I'm surprised it ran at all.
I'm gonna fit an inline filter so I can monitor whats happening in future.
Runs like a dream.
Thanks for all your thoughts and suggestions.
