We've just had some really good news - we're having a baby!
It's due in November, but we've only just had the scan so held off telling people until now.
The only downside is that I've got to sell the 90 (shameless plug for my post on the for sale forum - apologies Mods  ). Still, it's worth it if my nieces are anything to go by!
We've decided not to find out what we're having (other than a baby, obviously!). It'll be a surprise come November!
Cheers

Congratulations Ben and Mrs......
Forget those other offers....
I've got four daughters.
2 of them have children (so you'll save 10 years and get grandkids into the bargain)
I'll also offer some old cigarette cards, 2 pieces of old chewing gum and an old sticking plaster (used) for the 90......

Hi there
Don't make any rash decisions we had 3 kids all under 5 and I made up seat harnesses for my old 1959 landrover they were brought up with it and still remember the fun we used to have off road in it.
I'd understand if you were selling a wee 2 seater sports job.
Don't give up the small pleasures just to have kids they aint cheap but if you have 3 think of of the recycling you can make the clothes go 3 times as far.
Well done Congrats
-
Thanks everyone :D
No rash decisions made - Sarah wants me to keep the 90! I'm selling both the Octavia (vRS Estate, very fast, very nice 8) ) and the 90 and going to get a Disco instead. At least that's the theory! Running 3 cars between 2 of us doesn't make financial sense (especially with my claims history!), so I'm going to get something a bit more "hybrid".
Wasn't going to put the Octy on here, but am tempted as there's been all sorts of stuff on "for sale" - it wouldn't look out of place! Once I've spoken to the dealer tomorrow...
Cheers

omg i LOVE those VRS models from skoda!

I drove one of those on my Advanced Refresher. Very quick. Congrats on the baby, by the way! Parenthood is a real joy. Although a word of warning. If it's a girl, under no circumstances let her have anything to with horses! You will be broke for evermore!
So if she asks, just say "No, horses are evil, they break into Daddy's piggy bank, eat all his money and leave big piles of smelly stuff for him to clear up"
-
Good on you mate. Its a lovely surprise waiting till the end. Just remember to buy eeverything in a mutual colour. :)

Hmm...
I like Epsom Green, but I think it'll end up being Oxford Blue if Sarah has anything to do with it :D

I wish I'd talked to Lord Shag-Pile a few years ago. Truly great advice I've got a wife and daughter into horses my brass never even gets as far as the piggybank.

Now I am confused! An Epsom Green baby or an Oxford Blue baby! Ah well, the wonders of modern science!

Steve mate, what it is to be a 'Horse Widower'. I thought I had a family once. Now all I have is a faint smell of horse dung, and a house full of stinky hoss blankets, jodphurs and boots! And before anyone says anything, jodphurs only look good on Zara Phillips! gigity gigity, allll riiight, ding dong, woof woof, howl!
-
Too true and try to get anything mended it's amazing how quickly horse rugs get stitched up compared to my ripped jeans. Usually ripped doing fencing for the nags at that.
Damn can't get the picture of Zaras legs out of my mind now.
Cheers fellow widower.

That'll be the disco then! I'm hoping the baby will be relatively human - after all half it's genes wil be from the wife. It's the other half that worries me  I thinkI'm human!

Ah yes, but look at it this way. It could be worse! You could have a Disco that needs regular feeding, makes a mess, drops liquids and makes bad smells at the most inappropriate moments!
No, wait a minute! Discos do that anyway! At least mine does! perhaps I have a Disco/Human mutation! Oh, woe! What monster have I created?
