Seen it aroung loads of times when I lived in Hove. Most often outside the Indian on GoldStone Villas. Took a while to twig who it belonged to.

Those Peterbilts are very nice & it's such a successful shape that it's been around for literally years with very little modernisation.
Mindst you, I reckon those 2 Bobbies were more than relieved that he didn't resist arrest!
(he may have been out of the ring for a few years now, but ......)

Oh that K-Dub's tasty
One recovery agent at the other side of Wakefield has 2 old Peterbilts.
My father-in-law used to have dealings with them, as he was in charge of the local Arriva bus depot workshops
This is their working one

This dates from about 14months ago.
Embarrassingly I've only just added it, having forgotten about it
(it shows the extended chassis very well)

I recognise those 2!! They drag buses to our place for repair from the Yorkshire depots, I have also seen them at Arriva wakefield on more than one occasion, I was talking to the driver of one of them once and said how good he must feel driving somthing like that with everyone looking at him, he explained that they are a pig to drive as they have the turning circle of the QE2 and are totally inappropiate for the job they do in this country, our yard isn't too tight to get into but he cant get in with that,no enough lock and too darn long, he drops them on the road and we tow them in with our 1983 ERF tractor unit - still going strong if not a bit smokey!!

I was watching it as it turned round on the last photo, it has indeed got 'supertanker steering'
I jumped back in the Landie (I'd left it running & shot the photo over the bonnet), it doesn't half accelerate when it's running solo!!!

I saw this beasty today. All I know is that its Russain and it is probably nuclear powered. When it started it sounded very big and seemed to suck all the local wildlife into the engine bay!

It is a Ural, I think
