Was Flaffing about the disco today checkin where another new leak has sprung from when i saw this......

which is super as the mot is booked for tuesday coming.....

how much is that gona cost to sort out ? and how the hell can i sort it? big hammer??? grrrrrrrrrr

1st pic...just try the MOT anyway, mine got through like that.  I think you are OK so long as nothing wobbles...

the bottom of the chunk of metal outrigger doovery thingy that the trailing arm goes into is bent complety up and over the bush from the front..

lol sorry pic is too small im just proud i got the pics to work hehe lol

Here 1 for you! for the bush if your really sneaky try slackening the trailing arm and turn the bush till it looks ok :roll: and as you said yourself for the outrigger BIG HAMMER!!! :D  :D

Why mess around...

Bush takes about 40 mins to change at the most!!  
Why even risk driving around with something that could make you suddenly loose control of your disco  :shock: (well worse case, bush could fail and fall out completely)

With the trailing arm removed, use of a hammer will soon straighten out the chassis.

With something as simple, barely seems worth bodging!!

I'm with Ian, no point in messing around with it as you'll have to do it anyway and turning it round is 3/4 of the way to removing it anyway.

A new bush is only £4.11 from Paddocks, although I'd get a new nut for the trailing arm and 3 new nuts & bolts for the bush just to be on the safe side.  :wink:

For straightening thin metal a big screw spanner done op so it clamps on the bent metal and just use it to leaver the bent part back to the right shape.

A useful technic when this isn't enough room to swing a hammer or the metal is just going to spring when the hammer hits it rather than deforming like you want it to.

Mine has actually torn right through, from bottom to bush and is only held on by the sides. My bush has fallen out and my component is actually ABOVE the bottom of the chassis rail!

I suppose i had better get that sorted hey!
