Cross posted from another forum but his really makes me angry.
We let people into the UK on the flimsist of evidence, give them free driving lessons, free housing etc etc and this poor old sod (complete with victory cross) gets told to sod off. Makes my blood boil.

Do you not think we ought to look after our British National war vets first??
My Grandad was a POW in Burmha in 2WW and was treated poorly when he returned.
Vets from 2WW are now pensioners and get no respect, every winter we hear how they die cause they cant afford heating.
Falklands, Iraq etc. all have their 'hero's ' and our government ignores them all in favour of bone idle people that have never done a days work or contributed anything, they are the people that get free housing, driving lessons, and some spare cash for the pub and the bookies

The government only knows how to look after themselves, and listen to the bleeding hearts brigade
They dont know what loyalty means, people are willing to protect them with their lives in the forces, and when they leave or are injured they are lucky to get the right treatment in the uk
Most of the military hospitals around the UK, have been closed down, these not only catered for military medical needs but local civilians as well

Signed.
This story makes my blood boil, when you think of all the scrounging so and so's who land on these shores each day, and the one's who live here as well, and everything is handed to them on a gold plate. :x

It seems we are living in a very mixed up country, for his services to our country he should have a british passport at lease.

The guy will have an Army pension (at a lower rate , being a Gurka  ) we owe him and others like him.
At least let him see his days out in relative comfort and show him some gratitude.

the governmetn have finally realised the debt they owe to the gurkha soldiers that loyally defence our crown by giving them the same perks as us "regular" soldiers
i wont get started on this issue it has been said before in many ways and words but bottom line it aint fair....
-
Its utterly disgusting, anyone who places their life on the line for out country should have citizen ships and the same rights as they protected in the first place.

Signed.
Once again, I hope that El Presidente Blair is very pleased with what his pack of weak willed, self indulgent, nest feathering, spinless, traitorous, surrender monkeys have done for this Country.
Well done Tony, I hope your memoirs haunt you!

Having served with the Gurkha's I have the utmost respect and admiration for these guy's they give there lives for us and embrace our country yet not only do they get treated as second rate by our politicians they get paid peanuts compared to the rest of us.
I was on patrol with one of the guy's. Let me tell he could have ran rings round me. I was eternally grateful that he was on my side.
It makes you ashamed to be British.
Really [!Expletive Deleted!] of now going to the bar.

Good news
Glad to see this one worked out for a change :D
A former Gurkha from Nepal who was awarded the Victoria Cross for his bravery during the Second World War arrived in the UK yesterday, Wednesday 4 July 2007, where he was officially welcomed by members of the Gurkha regiment.
Following discussions between the Secretary of State for Defence, Des Browne, the Foreign Office and the Home Office, Honorary Lieutenant (QGO) Tulbahadur Pun VC has been granted, on exceptional grounds, a settlement visa to enable him to receive urgent medical treatment in the UK.
