"I think there is something wrong with my car. A teapot looking thing has just appeared on the dash."

Either way get it to a main dealer for diagnosis!

Usually oil level or oil pressure, something related to engine oil at least.

topped it up with that expensive vw audi slx stuff and all is now fine!!
