Hi all, just about to do a SPOA conversion on my SJ410. Been reading loads about how to, etc. but would just like some info about how it will effect the castor angle if at all. I've also got slightly bigger tyres, 215 15 diamond backs. It drives okay at the moment, but then again I've only driven it up and down the street and on pay n play sites, and surely just putting the axle on the opposite side of the springs shouldn't really alter the castor angle, or will it? Just need someone to put my mind at rest, don't want to put it all together only to find a problem later. Should say, I've got all the other bits, prop spacers, extended hoses, etc.

You will need longer hoses and a Z steering bar to correct the steering geometry. There are kits available on "auction" sites.

As long as the new spring perches were welded on square to the other ones, the only real grief you will get is down to the steering idler working at a steeper angle. This can give more bump steer, and give the joints a hard time.
Dont forget that your bump stops will need re-siting, as they will probably be sitting in fresh air now, and the shock mounts will be all over.
Brake pipes will be too short, and check the front prop, it has a nasty habit of fouling on the front Xmember at full droop!! You may need spacers or a CV shaft.

Finally got round to doing my SPOA. Just need to sort out the bump stops now. Any ideas welcome.
