Title: Today I have been mostly fitting.......
Post by: Defender on May 31, 2007, 21:46:48
A shiny new Transfer Box from Ashcroft's & a shiny new X-Brake

But not before removing the Blackbird's nest I found wedged between the handbrake drum & transfer box. :o

I wouldn't mind, but I use the vehicle daily, so the bird must have been building the nest in the evenings & early mornings. And the nest has probably had a trip to the North York Moors & a trip to Blackburn.
Started to rain, so had to put up the mobile workshop   (£12.99 Gazeebo from Tesco)

Only problem was lying on my back with a transfer box on my chest, trying to escape from under it without banging my head on another large pointy part of the underside of the vehicle.

PMSL    Know that problem only too well

It looks great...I do like the X-Eng gear, well thought out & engineered.

Nice work.  At least your Gazeebo didn't try to take off, as it would out on my drive.

I hope so. I'd given up with the old drum brake. It would either jam on & the vehicle wouldn't move or more recently, wouldn't hold the vehicle agains a slight breeze  & I'd got sick of stripping it down & rebuilding it.
Whilst out laning, I'd have to turn the engine off & leave it in gear everytime I stopped to open a gate, most annoying :x
It seemed a good opportunity to change to an X-Brake whilst I was doing the transfer box swap.
