The forestry commission lads here have got some specialist trucks for felling the trees which put those to shame.

I have watched them go up almost any mountain side with Hiab or Atlas on the back complete with grab and giant chainsaw. They took my breath away and had chains on the wheels.

Don't know what they were maybe caterpillar type vehicles but I wouldn't have believed they could tackle the side of a mountain here with the same terrain.

Oh I think I could enjoy that kind of job.

Any forestry guys here who can give us the gen on what they are.

Given that...
1) Those beasts are pretty much all ex Warsaw Pact stock

and

2) I was in BAOR in the 80's...

I'm kinda glad those soviet chapys didn't decide to cross the line one wet Friday night... those beasts would have put or dainty li'l Bedford MK's to shame!
