Well it would now seem that as of 2010 you will have to pay £100 a day to drive your diesel series 3/90/110/130 if its between the manufacture years of 1973 and 2001 :(
And this isnt just the congestion zone, thats seperate and you still have to pay for that on top of the LEZ. Its the whole of greater london, this isnt an urban myth story, its on the Transport For London website, it starts on 4th Feb next year for bigger diesel engines, then over 4 years other vehicles are being added to the list :(

Doesnt mention landrovers or £100 a day in that article :? and can't find anything searching the new on the net.
Also if you find an alternative fuel to run on ie bio or lpg arnt you exempt from alot of the charges already..... as you are on low emmisions

surely tho at the end of the day as long as your producing emmisions within the guidelines it doesn't matter how you've done it!
Dont go near london anyway or citys in general if i can help it......... Think iv only been to london twice in my life lol both times on a train and the tube.....
Soon everyone will leave England and all that will be left will be the (hmmmm i should be careful what i type here) that caused all the problems in the first place..... were over crowded.
-
tbh i also think its all a bit media scare as well
-
leave london? ... hell I am thinking of leaving the country all together for a lot less than £100 a day
-
Will someone shoot Ken Livingstone PLEASE!!!!!
There are a few people around that would be glad to. The thought has crossed my mind more than once!!
Interesting that the low emmision zone has been introduced only after they got rid of all the old buses and bought the new bendy ones. 'Spooky'
Having to pay £8 a day to get to work really starts to annoy you after a while. I hate the way that he says that people should use public transport and then fail to provide a service that will get me to work on time!! Not everyone can afford to live in central London and get the tube to work like he can and not everybody has the pleasure of working 9-5.

Not subject to LEZ - Based on the information you have entered and information held by Transport for London (TfL), the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) does not apply to this vehicle. As long as the vehicle remains not subject to the LEZ the daily charge does not have to be paid for this vehicle when it is used in the Zone.
Emissions classification for these dates is based on the Vehicle Type and the age of the vehicle
What can I do if my vehicle is non-compliant?
Explore your options if your vehicle has to pay the charge.

No, this is not a scare its coming into force.
i live in e.london after 2010 i will not be able to own my current defender   due to it costing me in £100 fines every time i would use it, and no i cant afford one registered post 2001
-
http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/LEZ-vehicles-affected.pdf
reading through that document, the LEZ zone only applies to lorries and vans above 1.205 tonnes unladen
cars and motorcycles are exempt.
so it will only affect landrovers that dont have rear seats and windows
-
I'm lucky.
On the other hand, my chances of driving to London of my own accord are so slight that it doesn't matter.
