is it an easy job to fit power steering to a 410? putting in a vit engine aint an option here. If so what parts are compatable etc?
cheers for any info, my steering is like a workout without loads of mud :)

hi m8 there is a couple of ways to fit p/s
u can use a vitara setup ut a conversion plate will be needed to fit the steering box to the sj chassis also a vitara p/s set up uses a serpintine(??) belt not a v like the sj
you can also use a jimny set up this p/s box fits perfect to the sj chassis but im unsure wot belt is uses im afraid

why do you need p/s ?
Looking at your avitar your are running fairly normallyish sized tyres so the steering should be acceptable.
are your knuckles too tight?
what about your castor angle?
check out the other possiblities before you have to fit power steering, I run 7.50x16 tyres and a 3" lift, but don't need to upgrade the steering.

Tyres are 195 80 r15 if i remember right Machos, so they were about 28-29" and have nearly new tread. Had a professional SPOA, giving about 5-6" lift and ive put in prop spacers. With tyres down at off road pressures of about 16psi my steering is just very hard. Im used to nice power steering, so its probably not any worse than it should be, but in the mud the steering is sweet and id like it like that all the time.
Just looking into getting power steering as it would be a nice improvement. Wondered if anybody had done it, and how easy/expensive it was. Cant swop engine in the 410 as too many other bits would need changing too, and id hate to lose my paddle clutch.
