The stick on my RRC becomes very hot after being used in either an off road environment or when its being used repetitively such as in town.
Its hot enough to be very uncomfortable to the touch but doesn't seem to heat up when being used on motorways.
Any ideas or is this normal?

mine does the very same :!:
-
Probably the build up of heat as there is very little wind flow under the vehicle to cool it down.

Am I right in thinking that there could/should be an oil cooler somewhere? I can't find one that I recognise as being one?
Thanks for the responses.

Depends which model/year it is.

1989.

Mine is an auto, the cooler is at the bottom front of the radiator, if you follow the 2 pipes from the gearbox  it is a strange looking long cylinder shape covered with fins.
Not sure if the manual has one. dont remember seeing one on the one I just broke :?

The 3.9's had two coolers IIRC. The bog brush one, plus a core through one of the radiator end caps.

there isnt a cooler for the Tbox
just the Gear box & the engine

My Manual LT77 has an oil cooler though, the bog brush as someone put it.
