Title: fuel filter

when i change the fuel filter on my 200tdi i just turn the key till it starts, i dont bleed it or anything and its always been ok, does anyone else do that or do you bleed it first

I have done the same thing with every diesel i have had, sure they stumble a bit and sometimes cut out but they allways seem to start straight away on the key

I always fill the filter before refitting with fuel :D

As DG said, also run the motor up to temperature before starting, it takes the strain of a cold start out of the equation

I usually fill the new filter with fresh diesel but other than that nothing!
