Well today was the day, I'd booked it in a few days in advance so I could sort out any problems before the actual expiry.
I dropped it off at the Ambulance Service workshops this morning at 09:00, after the usual brief prayer & walked home
After a day that was spent mostly in the house (due to the weather), I walked the mile & half back down at 15:00.
All I'll say is...... those sheets of paper are damned expensive!!!

Unless i'm mistaken, what the landy fail on??? not that i'm being pesermistic :?
-
Mine just failed on:-
lights not working on beam
passenger door won't open from inside
rear wheel carrier not quite secured (I did it!!)
exhaust not attached properly to rear x-member because.....
rear x-member corroded to crap and is being replaced tomorrow.
Wonder what that lot's gonna cost me?
come on BTM, spill the beans......

Nothing, it just cost me the £40.00 test fee :D
I use them as they're firm but fair.
Gven that their main duties are looking after the regions Ambulance fleet, they're fairly keen on the safety critical componants.
I've used them since I bought my old 110Tdi (back in 1997)

i like taking my landrover in to a place that is apparently rather strict
means when i does pass, i'm doing things right :D

Sorry forgot all about this in my surprise.
It passed, but I got a couple of advisories.
1. Missing bump stop
2. Head light pattern poor.
I recently repaird the chassis above the bump stop and forgot to put the bump stop back on after waiting for paint to dry
The head light hmm. One is sealed beam, the other is Halogen it was in the wing that I recently fitted So I'll take it off and put the old sealed beem back on, saves washing them out after Langley Farm

Was it not as bad as you expected, or worse??

Mine just failed on loadsa stuff but mostly niff naff. I think the tester was expecting to find loads of rot on the chassis, but when he looked saw a nice shiny galv one and thought now what am I gonna fail it on??
Failed it for side repeaters being too dark orange :? Rear indicators too light orange :? They were the 2 that got my goat, they work don't they?
Also failed on leaking swivel and worn steering ball joint. Those I can accept, and I'm in the middle of fixing. The other niff naff just pi55es me off.
Won't be going there again.
