Title: Sticking large graphics on - what happens on window rubbers?
Post by: auf_wiedersehen_pet on June 16, 2007, 21:46:44
I want to stick som large tyre tread graphics on. What happens when they pass over window rubbers?

Do I need to remove the graphic which touches the rubber or will it stick?

The only problem I had is that where the rubber meets the glass its hard to avoid an air pocket under the decal.  I suppose if the vinyl is flexible and you are patient, that could be avoided.

A mate of mine is a signwriter. He uses a solution of water and washing up liquid in one of those hand sprayers, this allows you to move the graphics into position without them sticking immediately. They also use a plastic scraper to push the air bubbles out without damaging the glass or paintwork.

Goodluck
