Title: The Law of Sod
Post by: Lord Shagg-Pyle on June 23, 2007, 21:34:54
It is decreed that if thou shalt work upon the propshaft of your landy, the following will happen:
1) The heavens shall open, and the rain will runneth down the slope and down the back of thy overalls
2) The rain will stop when work hath stopped!
3) The nut that is the most difficult to undo shall be at the highest point where you can't reach it.
4) Said nut will be rounded off.
5) Thy spanner will slip, and you most verily and forcefully strike thy hand upon the underside of thy car and peel back skin.
6) When  said skin has peeled back, blood will issue forth, as will obscenities from thy mouth.
7) At the time of the utterance of the most rude word thy can muster, the elderley neighbour will appear with their grandchild.
8) Upon completion of the job, thy will venture to the cool box and find that thy wife has drunk your last bottle of 12% Bush Belgian beer, you have carefully had chilling for a week!
9) Again, thy shall verily utter much crudeness!

Amen!

Well in reply to a couple of the rules:

Firstly the top bolt can be undone by lifting 1 wheel off the ground and turning the prop.

Secondly if you buy a tool from Difflock for propshaft removal it fits perfectly between the knuckles and saves the skin from being peeled!!

Points noted, but I work on the principle that if the car has not bitten me atleast twice, then it's vampiristic tendenceys have not been calmed, and it won't allow me to get the job done.

Even with the aformentioned tool, I still find I have to rotate the propshaft. So the Landy still has to lift a wheel like a dog at a lamp post! Well, it marks its territory everywhere it stops anyway!
