Just been reading LRO. G4 Disco's for sale at 16k. Why cant we drive them in UK :?
I was so impressed with the Disco's at Whitworth I need to convince SWMBO that we need one. :D

I think, might be wrong, but it might have something todo with the tyre's fitted and there rating on UK roads :?:
Nice aren't they :D

It's due to the engines guys. No UK spec emissions systems ;-)
-
can u not import them?
-
They'll be like the UN 4x4s that can only be used outside of the EU.

Arh well you see totally wrong
Does that mean then if you did have one over here it would fail our MOT system on emissions, or do we not have the right gear to test them :?:
Strange really to stay that I presume they are made and put together at Solihull :?:

As far as I understood it, they are basically bog standard mechanically.
The article says 'You can buy one of the G4 Discovery V8's used in the 2003 event. But there's a catch: You cant drive them on the road in the UK, nor the rest of Europe. EU rules mean they are only road-legal outside Europe' - But why :?: They are right hand drive aswell :!: . <the mind boggles> . Can they be converted to UK spec emmissions :?:

If you wanted to, you could put one through SVA to make it road legal in the UK. Would probably have to carry a 'Q' plate, but that should let you drive it.
