Well after spending some time searching for a good 300Tdi i finally find one and go 65 miles to test drive it,love it so parted with the cash and set off back home.Twenty minutes into the trip and panic,engine dies and i  pull onto the hard shoulder. So i rings the garage up i bought it from and all credit he turns out and guess what-blown headgasket. Left it with them and their ringing me tommorrow to give me the news.

Unlucky mate, hope they sort it for you, did you have some kind of a gaurentee?

They are looking at it today and contacting me later,stupid but if they can fix it i still want that motor,cheers Andy.

If they fix it then job done, better go now whilst you still can do something about it with the garage than in a few months time when its "put your hands in your pockets time"

Garage rang me today and informed me it's the head gasket :(  and that hopefully i should have for the weekend  :D
