Title: How not to drive on a flooded road
Post by: Lord Shagg-Pyle on June 30, 2007, 12:33:14
My apologies if you have already seen this, but I blagged it from the DOC forum.
I left me astounded. The method of driving displayed was not taught on any of the courses I went on!

A few years ago we had some floods in Cardigan. I was tasked there as part of Fishguard Coastguard in our Vauxhall Brave 4x4. I was driving through this piece with a lovely bow wave and the water coming level with the door windows. After I got through one of the local plod decided he could get the diesel police corsa through   There was no immediate need for him to do it, and he had seen me go through so knew how deep it was but he would not take a telling.

so after recovering him (we made him get out and attach the tow line, we weren't getting wet!!) he [!Expletive Deleted!] off very sheepishly on shankses pony

Thing is when I worked at Ford we used to do that to development cars on purpose to see what would happen, so it's their own fault for driving a renault.
