How long do the A frame balljoint and bushs last?
I only ask as my 300 shape disco has a knock coming from the NSR when I hit pot holes, I've checked all the other bushs etc that can be seen so these are the remaining items that could cause it.
Cheers

Mine lasted 147,000 miles. They were still ok when I removed them.
Definitely not trailing arm, damper, a frame ball joint?

Depends a lot on how you treat them, (Like anything else I suppose)
Heather's are still original at about 180K miles.
Mathilda's bushes were non existant when I changed them at less than 100K Kilometers.
Grabbing a rear wheel and pulling it vigorously with the car on the ground will show up wear in the bushes, Get someone to watch them.
Was mighty interesting driving at speed off road with a not very well located axle

Those bushes work hard on a lifted car, or on one that tows a lot or is driven hard. (best check mine then  ).
But that knocking you describe could be so many other things far more likely.

May sound daft, (but it will not be the first time I have said something daft) but if it is the near side check the rear door stricker. If the door is not sitting right it does make a noise. Mine was doing this when I got it, altered the plate, noise gone.

Well the disco has only go 99k on it, but I don't know how those mile where done. most likley the rear door though.
thanks.

Turns out it was the door. A fiddle with the wedge shaped support bracket thingy that looks like it supposed to carry the weight of the door when it's closed and alls quiet now :D
Somtimes it's the simple things.
Thanks guys.
Pete.
