Title: what do you think?
Post by: paul and sam on July 05, 2007, 22:24:13
i was thinking of setting my winch up so it can be used with a wireless transmitter. after looking at some of the items for sale for the job i have come up with the thought can i use a trany/rec  from maplins? looking at it it is coded so it cant be upset with dodgy signals and is secure the system can be installed and will work for around 100 meters (long enough for a winch cable i think :(contented): ) so over to you all .. any thoughts? many thanks

got remote on my winch and love it. i use the winch alot for many different things and nearly always use the remote. also means that you can sit in a car your recovering and steer that while the winch pulls it!!

I've got a Loadsure one and it's very good - between £35 and £55 on the bay
Recovery solutions are doing the same ones

BUT

Be aware that the receiver is not submersible so don't follow instructions and put it in your solenoid box as it doesn't work when it's wet    lengthen the wires and put it up in your head lining

Yes I found out the easy way

it came as standard with the winch. it is only a cheap xtreame terrain one off eblag but i thought id give a cheap one a try and if i used it then id replace with a more expensive one when i broke it and if i didnt use it not bother. now i wouldnt be without it and despite my best efforts i havent broken it yet........
